About CASED

The Center for Advanced Studies in Economics and Data Science (CASED) is a non-profit educational and research organization, founded by Professor Lê Văn Cường (Paris School of Economics) and the Development and Policies Research Center (DEPOCEN). Its mission is to enhance the knowledge and research capacity of Vietnamese citizens in the fields of socio-economics, policy, and development.

Since its establishment in 2019, CASED has successfully organized the annual Pre-Master’s and PhD Preparation Program in Economics, as well as short-term training courses on Data Analysis using Stata and R, Causal Inference and Public Policy, Mathematics for Economics, along with more than 30 workshops and seminars on both economic and non-economic topics (such as public health, policy, philosophy, and history).

Professor Lê Văn Cường

Professor Lê Văn Cường is currently a Professor Emeritus at the Paris School of Economics, and honorary Research Director of the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). The professor has held many important positions such as: Deputy Scientific Director, in charge of Economics and Linguistics of the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS).

Professor Trần Nam Bình is currently working at the University of New South Wales. Professor Stefano Bosi is currently a Professor of Economics at the University of Paris-Saclay. Prof. Stefano Bosi was the Deputy Head of the Department of Linguistics, Economics and Management Sciences at the Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences (INSHS) under the National Center for Scientific Research, France (CNRS) from 2011 to 2015. From 2012 to 2016, the professor also served as the director of the Economics Research Unit (EPEE) at the University of Evry. Since January 2016, the professor has been the Chairman of the Academic Council (CAC) of the University of Evry.
