Band Instrument Overview
Below are examples of each of the instruments you can choose to play in beginning band. Bands are composed of three families of instruments: Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion.
Woodwinds
Woodwind instruments are instruments that produce sound by the vibration of a reed (oboes, clarinets, and saxophones), or by the vibration of the air against the instrument (flutes).

Brass
Brass instruments are instruments that produce sound by the vibration of your lips. Instruments you can choose from in the brass section are Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, and Baritone. French horns and Baritones tend to be more expensive to rent, so the school has several of these instruments to provide.
