Malanday National High School, formerly, Concepcion High School is a legislated school approved in May 1991 and fully operational since June 1998 up to the present. The school is now in its permanent site, situated in Purok 4, Malanday, Marikina City, with Dr. Lydia B. Timoteo as the first principal. In 1991, through Cong. Democlito Angeles (Lone Congressman) the yearwhen Republic Act 6987, creating Concepcion High School at SSS Vill. Bgy. Conception II, was approved, the quest for the full implementation and realization of the law was very much awaited. It was at first a starter school way back year SY 1990-1993 with Mrs. Lagrimas B. Garcia as Head Teacher In-Charge. It was then known as Marikina High School Concepcion Annex located between Concepcion Elem. School and RELC. Lack of appropriate school site in Concepcion Dos caused the delay of its implementation.
In the year 1993-1995, Mrs. Victoria D. Naranja became the Head Teacher In-Charge. Since there was still no site for the school, it has to be reverted back to Marikina High School for the year 1995-1998. Upon the initiative of Mrs. Florencia M. Lopez, the former principal of Marikina High School, together with Hon. Armand Llado,former Barangay Chairman of Concepcion Dos and Mrs. Victoria Naranja, former Head of Concepcion Annex, a dialogue with then Mayor Bayani Fernando was held long before the enrollment for S.Y. 1998 – 1999 begun. With the leadership of Dr. Abella C. Macarandan, then Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Officer In-Charge of the Division Office, the City Government was reached. Concepcion High School, which was housed at SSS Elem. School started its operation in SY 1998 catering purely on its first year students totaling to 411 with Mrs.
SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN 2013-2016
Victoria D. Naranja as the first Head Teacher In-Charge with 14 teachers, where three (3) of them are holders of Concepcion High School items. The remaining eleven (11) teachers were detailed at Concepcion High School. The back portion of SSS Village Elementary School with four (4) classrooms and Three (3) makeshift rooms were used as temporary classrooms under the administration of Dr. Lydia B. Timoteo as the second Head Teacher In-Charge, SY 1999-2000. It started to operate in its new site in SY 2001-2003 still with Dr. Lydia V. Timoteo as Principal. It was in the year 2002 that it had its first graduation ceremonies. SY 2003-2008, Mr. Edgardo L. Nieto became the next principal, followed by Mr. Wilfredo S. Jabal, SY 2008-2010. Then, Mr. Alberto D. Villamor, SY 2010-2012.
In the year 2007, the school has evolved into a technical school offering STVEP (Strengthened Technical-Vocational Education. Thus, it’s name was also changed from Concepcion High School to Malanday National High School through Republic Act 9655, an Act changing the name of Concepcion High school in Bgy. Malanday to Malanday National High School. It boasts of its teachers who are NC II passers. The school commits itself in developing the youth of Marikina, a welldisciplined, academically excellent, good taste, peace loving and globally competitive individuals who could cope up to the demands of the fast changing society.
