ORMOC RESEARCH CAUCUS

“Research & Innovation: Making Change Happen”  

     Republic Act No. 9155 known as Governance of Basic Education Act of 2001 provides among others the strengthening of School-Based Management (SBM). By further devolving the governance of education to schools, empowering school heads and non-teaching personnel in expanding community participation and involvement and making the delivery of educational service to the learners more responsive, efficient and effective through an enhanced school planning and improvement that lays down specific interventions through initiated projects in schools.

     In response to the Department of Education’s (DepEd) mandate to provide complete, adequate, and relevant basic education services, Ormoc City Division in partnership with Ormoc City Local Government Unit (LGU) will conduct the ORMOC RESEARCH CONGRESS.

   The research congress is open to all research practitioners and enthusiasts in the education sector and academe of both public and private schools. The Caucus shall focus on showcasing research addressing problems related to teaching and learning, child protection, human resource, and governance of basic education.

The research congress aims to:

1.   Strengthen the culture of research in Ormoc City to aid data-driven decision-making.

2.  Showcase innovation and educational research towards improving access, quality, and governance of basic education.

3.   Provide an avenue for a healthy competition among researchers and further enhance their research knowledge and competencies.
