Go for WINS! Hon. Ma. Olivia B. Pascual, president of the Rotary Club of Nueva Segovia and present Vice Mayor of Lal-lo, Cagayan awards the check amounting to P25,000 as financial assistance for the construction of handwashing facility of the school to Leah N. LAL-LO, CAGAYAN- The Rotary Club of Nueva Segovia handed in an amount of P25,000 to Lal-lo National High School-Cabayabasan Annex for the construction of a communal hand washing facility in support to the Wash-in-School Project of the Department of Education (DepEd) this January 20.
Hon. Ma. Olivia B. Pascual, the president of the Rotary Club of Nueva Segovia and the present Vice-Mayor of Lal-lo, initiated the release of financial assistance to Lal-lo National High School-Cabayabasan Annex.
The activity aimed to support the WINS Project of DepEd to strengthen health and proper hygiene among schools in Lal-lo in this time of pandemic.
The project also targeted the construction of additional hand washing stations to cater the growing population of schools in the municipality.
In a facebook post, Lito L. Agcaoili, Head Teacher V and the current Officer-in-Charge of the school, expressed his gratefulness for the support that the school once again had received from the club.
“LNHS-CA wishes to thank the Rotary Club of Lal-lo headed by Hon. Maria Olivia Pascual, and the whole LGU Lal-lo thru the leadership of Hon. Florence Oliver Pascual for the financial assistance amounting to P25,000. This is for the purpose of the construction of a hand washing facility of the school.”
Meanwhile, Lal-lo National High School-Main and Logac National High School headed by William Calabazaron and Daniel Aguidan respectively, also received the same assistance.
It is noted, moreover, that the Rotary Club of Nueva Segovia was a recognized organization known for its projects handed to several recipients in the region.
HILLSIDE CARE! Teachers of LNHS-CA regularly visit learners and follow-up parents in the academic standing of their children particularly those that are prone of dropping out this school year.
Following health protocols, teachers of Lal-lo National High School-Cabayabasan Annex reached out possible Students-at-Risk-of-Dropping-Out (SARDOs) in the second quarter of the school year 2020-2021 on March 10.
According to Lito L. Agcaoili, the OIC of the school, there is an increasing reason for teachers to move and reach out learners who are possible victims of dropping out in this time of pandemic.
“We need to approach the parents of these learners identified to be SARDOs and give them necessary interventions in order for them to cope up with the competencies.”
He added that the school must link with the feeder barangays for following up distribution and retrieval of self-learning modules and learning activity sheets.
“It is timely that our feeder barangays must look into possibilities of tapping possible sources of parent-support in order to achieve continuous learning among our learners.”
Teachers, on the other hand, regularly hold meetings for planning and setting pedagogical ways of approaching these learners.
Joann U. Mayo, the faculty president, reiterated that teachers must always be ready to work hand-in-hand with parents and stakeholders for the betterment of students’ academic performance in the new normal.
“We need to foster positivity and consideration among our learners especially that not all have equal status of living. So we must make sure to work hand-in-hand with the parents and stakeholders.”
Meanwhile, these learning facilitators promise to continue serving the learners as they conduct regular reproduction of modules, review of activity sheets and make sure that no learner is left behind.

Olivia B. Pascual, Vice Mayor of Lal-lo, Leo Casauay, PSDS of Lal-lo North and Camalaniugan District and Eden Malabag, PSDS of Sta. Teresita on February 24 at Sta. Maria Central School, Lal-lo South District, Lal-lo, Cagayan.
LAL-LO, CAGAYAN- The Lal-lo National High School-Cabayabasan Annex landed first runner-up in the Congressional District 1 Search for Brigada Eskwela Best Implementer for small schools category in the province of Cagayan on February 24 at Sta. Maria Central School.
Ma. Olivia B. Pascual, Lal-lo Vice Mayor, handed in the certificate of recognition to Lito L. Agcaoili, Officer-in-Charge, Joann U. Mayo, Brigada Eskwela coordinator and Rashid Khan P. Bayaca, Senior High School-Coordinator together with Myrna P. Agcaoili, Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS) of Lal-lo South District.
According to PSDS Agcaoili, the school has improved and teachers have worked well for the recognition.
“I personally witnessed how these teachers have done their part and how the school has shone at its best.”
PSDS Agcaoili also challenged everyone especially small schools to work unconditionally and to improve what the schools have to offer.
“May this achievement be a challenge to everyone that even small schools have the power to grow and to transform into big opportunities.”
Meanwhile, Licerio Antiporda Sr. High School of Buguey South topped the said competition with 98.5 accumulated score. LNHS-CA ranked second with a score of 86.5. CFPJ National High School of Gonzaga West and Luga National High School of Sta. Teresita reaped the third and fourth places with points of 84.5 and 82.5 respectively.
