To change the face of programming on television and online by producing and distributing content that is educational, informative, entertaining and inspiring.

ABOUT:

DepEd TV is the main television-based instruction initiative of the Department of Education. The DepEd TV has been airing to 15 TV, radio, and cable operators throughout the country . It is also available on DepEd TV and DepEd Philippines Facebook pages and DepEd TV-Official Channel on YouTube.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS:

Since its official launch, DepEd TV received 3 international awards which showcased the innovation and leadership of DepEd in promoting quality education for the Filipino learners. Last February 11, 2021, the mEducation Alliance awarded DepEd as the Champion for Policymaker in EdTech and as a finalist for the Crisis and Conflict Response Award given at the 10th Anniversary of the Mobiles for mEducation.

The DepEd TV project also won the Grand Prize for Outstanding Thematic Presentation with the prestigious recognition given by Signis Asia, a regional group of Signis which is a World Catholic Association for Communication known for fostering ecumenical dialogues on television and on the internet. The winning DepEd TV campaign featured the Department of Education’s Blended Learning strategy that uses television as one of the modalities of instruction. The project also showcased DepEd TV’s Teacher Broadcaster training program. DepEd TV was honored for its use of technology in ensuring that learning continues, even with the absence of face-to-face classes as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Grand Prize for Outstanding Thematic Presentation was conferred on DepEd TV during the Signis Asia TV Conference held in South Korea on May 12 to 14, 2021.
