𝗗𝗔𝗣𝗔, 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲 – Three hundred fifty-six Grade 6 learners from four schools in Siargao Island received educational aid and encouragement as the Senate Spouses Foundation Inc. (SSFI) brought its Summer Outreach and Enrichment Program to the island last March 26, 2026.

Held at Dapa Central Elementary School and SPED Center-SSES, the program brought together learners, educators, and local officials in a celebration of learning, resilience, and community partnership.

The beneficiary schools included Dapa Central Elementary School and SPED Center-SSES, Don Enrique Navarro Memorial School, Osmeña Elementary School, and Catabaan Elementary School.

The outreach program, spearheaded by SSFI Acting President Ms. Ciara Sotto, Assistant Secretary Mrs. Nancy dela Rosa, and Treasurer Ms. Maricel Tulfo, forms part of the foundation's continuing mission to bring educational assistance to underprivileged communities across the Philippines.

"On behalf of the Senate Spouses Foundation Inc., I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful communities of Siargao for warmly welcoming us and allowing us to be part of your lives through this Summer Outreach and Enrichment Program," said Ms. Sotto. "We look forward to continuing our shared mission of bringing hope, joy, and opportunities to more communities like yours."

Mrs. dela Rosa and Ms. Tulfo likewise expressed their appreciation to the Schools Division Office of Siargao, school heads, teachers, and learners for their enthusiastic participation and inspiring spirit.

Each of the 356 graduating learners received school bags, educational supplies, and food packs—practical support designed to ease their transition to junior high school and affirm the value of their educational journey.

Schools Division Superintendent Mr. Manuel O. Caberte expressed gratitude for the foundation's choice of Siargao as a beneficiary. "Initiatives like this play a vital role in uplifting our learners and strengthening their access to quality education, especially in our communities," he said.

Hon. Gerry M. Abejo, Vice Mayor of Dapa, delivered a message of appreciation, thanking SSFI for its generosity and commitment to the youth. He expressed hope that Siargao would be selected for similar programs in the future.

The event also drew participation from key local officials, including Dr. Harem L. Taruc, SGOD Chief of the Siargao Division; Mrs. Felicitas M. Gonzales, Dapa Municipal Administrative Officer; and Sangguniang Bayan members Marian T. Solloso and Myrna Catulay. Their presence underscored the strong collaboration among the Department of Education, local government, and partner organizations in advancing educational opportunities for Siargao's youth.
