Milagros L. Malazzab, school principal II of Cordova Central School, said it has been their concern on how to maintain cleanliness in school and how to handle waste materials accumulated daily.
“What I did was to motivate my teachers to make our school beautiful and make use of all of our recyclable materials that are found in our school and in our locality,” she said.
Malazzab said the school promote a clean and green environment as well as create an orderly and child-friendly school for the benefit of the learners and other stakeholders.
She said the it was timely and purposeful our school represented Amulung West Dstrict in the Brigada Eskela, division level, Best Performing school, congressional level and Best Implementer in Gulayan sa Paaralan, division level
She said it was one way to reduce or lessen the problems and burdens of how to handle waste materials.
According to Malazzab, the pupils, teachers and parents are working together to create innovations out of the recyclable materials such as old tires, plastic bottles, and water containers, which are available in the community.
“We made use of these waste materials to beautify our school as answerto the call of the department to recycled waste materials.
She said that the officials and community members in barangays also extended their support to the school
“The said contest proved how resourceful and innovative the teachers and parents are,” she said.
Malazzab said that the school plans to sustain this initiative, which is also in line with the school’s thrust of providing rich learning experiences to the school’s stakeholders.
“ This is not only for our own good, for the children but for the good of everybody in the locality,” she added.
