MESSAGE OF THE HEAD

I am honor to introduce to the public our humble school Union Elementary School. It is the first complete elementary school in the western part of Claveria and was the biggest in population during the 90’ but now it became a multi-grade school because of decreasing population. It has six teachers including the school head, who are working patiently to cater the needs of the seventy learners enrolled the last school year.

It has a big land area and most amenities needed by the learners are present if they are in school but this time they could not make use of them because of pandemic instead modular learning modality was used wherein they have to stay at home This was made possible through the devoted, patient and ever sacrificing teachers who are always ready to extend their time effort and even their personal finances just to make learning continue in this time of pandemic. Not to forget the help extended by the stakeholders, the LGU family who are always ready to extend their assistance for the welfare of the learners and teachers in particular and the community in general.

We the education providers do commit ourselves to work hand in hand to help every learner entrusted to us to attain the best quality of education that they deserve and that no learner is left behind even if we are uncertain what lies in the future. We commit ourselves to make our school a community of quality learning thus contributing to the attainment of the DEPED Mission and Vision.

Factors that define the success of LDM utilization in the new normal

3rd of April 2021

by Rosabelle R. Agnir

In this new normal stage of education, the shift only happens in the adjustments in the alternative teaching-learning methods and more emphasis on home based, distance learning system. This distance learning system is supported and reinforced by the utilization of various learning delivery modalities or LDM. Learners, are therefore being subjected to the present LDM-based stage and period of learning and education. With the use of these modalities, the promise of sustainable instruction and education remains at hand even amidst the on-going crisis.

However, in order to make the LDM implementation more productive and meaningful in this new normal, there are various factors and aspects that need to be considered and supported. One of these factors is the level of readiness of school leaders in facing the new normal system of school management that could reinforce the management of LDM School leaders need to be flexible and creative enough to succeed in the administration of the sudden shift in the learning modalities and system of learning. Educational managers need ample readiness and ability to support and empower teachers and parents as collaborative mentors of children and youth in the home-based learning set-up. Another salient and integral factor is the readiness of both the teachers and learners in subjecting themselves to the massive utilization of LDM. The new normal requires readiness among the learners in executing their independent learning skills and competencies especially in accomplishing self-learning modular tasks. On the part of the teachers, they need stable readiness in the sudden shift and adjustments in the design of learning materials and tools especially in this stage of learning when massive development of modular tools is evident.
