Piat, Cagayan - Northern barangays of Piat now have a more accessible school that caters to Kindergarten to Junior High School students, as Minanga Integrated School officially opened last September 30, 2021.
The former Minanga Elementary School was transformed into an integrated school to enable elementary graduates, particularly those from barangays Villa- Reyno, Apayao, Minanga, Calaoagan and Mapitac to continue their education at a lesser cost, particularly in terms of transportation expenses. Prior to MIS, students were required to go to Centro Piat to attend high school.
Dr. Orlando E. Manuel, CESO V, Schools Division Superintendent, officially launched Minanga Integrated School. Also, he offered a virtual message communicating his congratulations and best wishes to all of the activity's attendants. According to him, the establishment of Minanga Integrated School demonstrates optimism that something positive may occur even in the middle of pandemic.
The municipal mayor of Piat, Hon. Carmelo "Black " Villacete, SB Members, Barangay Officials of Minanga and Calaoagan, GPTA Officers, and other municipal and barangay officials were present during the said MIS launch.
Dr. Chelo C. Tangan, CESE, Assisstant Schools Division Superintendent visited the school personally. She delivered a message emphasizing the significance of continued support from all stakeholders.
Additionally, the District Teachers' Day Celebration was held following the establishment of the new institution. During the said ceremony, teachers who demonstrated exceptional performance were recognized. The honoring event recognized ten researchers and seven services awardees. Francisco S. Conag, District Supervisor and members of the SB presented the recipients with awards.
The activity concluded with an acknowledgement note from Grade IV adviser Marcela S. Dumaya.
The two-in-one exercise was held on the school grounds of MIS.
