“Rolling stone gathers no moss,” For my nine years now as a school head, I experienced to be assigned to different schools in Aparri West. For every new assignment I meet new friends, new experiences to cherish by and help me in my professional growth.
The roles and responsibilities of a leader is challenging but is also undeniably rewarding. I feel grateful for the opportunity to serve people especially the learners, teachers, parents and stakeholders as well.
I always maintain a good relationship to have a healthy working place where each and everyone of us dream together, plan together and work together for a common goal, that is to deliver quality education and make our school achievements both curricular and co-curricular at par as a manifestations of our golden harvest.
Bountiful words of encouragement I always give to my co-teachers in terms of their professional growth. Two teachers just finished their master’s degree, one teacher joined the school head assessment and one teacher joined the reclassification for Master Teacher I. All of them attended Webinars from Division up to National where they gather insights, skills and equipped them enough knowledge on how to cope –up with the trends in the new normal.
The camaraderie and cohesiveness in us is our great weapon that no space of resentment or hardship hindrance our journey to accept challenges on our way to face challenges in the new normal.
With this, I am proud to say that Bangag Elementary School, a school of dedicated and committed teachers, value-laden learners, supportive parents and stakeholders. Thus hand in hand we are “Working Together for Excellence!”

A Loving and Caring Leader

Hardworking, service-oriented, kind-hearted. These are just few among the qualities that would best describe Mrs. Josie G. Salagan, Principal I of Bangag Elementary School. These are the words that would also connect her life to her journey in the field of education as manifested in her leadership as one among the most outstanding School Principals in Aparri West District. Her leadership radiates as she hold high the banner of Bangag Elementary School and take it as the torch of the District to the Schools Division of Cagayan.
She works with teamwork and exemplifies camaraderie among her teachers bringing with her the authority, responsibility and accountability as she carry out her duties excellently. She sees to it that the welfare of teachers and learners go hand-in-hand towards professional growth, thus no learner is left behind.
She outstandingly does her reports with utmost diligence. She is vigilant in terms of implementing projects and programs for the betterment of the School. She friendly cooperates with the community as well as with the stakeholders and willingly listens and accepts suggestions that would contribute much to the success of the school, be it academically or physically. As much as possible, she doesn’t like to miss any seminar/webinar in order to update herself with the Educational trends and Thrusts. During competitions, Bangag Elementary School is always on top and excels in various contests through her motivation and positive outlook as she pushes her teachers and learners to always do their best.
As simple and humble as she is, she gains the respect of her teachers, parents, learners and the community through her good attitude and mindset. This unites them to work harmoniously for the school.
Her friends call her ma’am “Josieful” derived from her name ‘Josie’ and ‘ful’ signifies her enchanted beauty accompanied with sweet smile and charming eyes. You can always lean on to her shoulders closely that her teachers sometimes address her as “Inang Josie”. This shows that she is not only a leader through her position, but more so, she is a mother that guides and supervises in every task or endeavor for everyone.
You can also connect her name as a nature-lover and a certified ‘plantita’ especially that she encourage teachers, learners and parents to plant fruits and vegetables through the “Gulayan sa Paaralan”.
Truly, her dedication and commitment as the School Principal of Bangag Elementary School is undoubtedly excellent. Honesty and discipline are her armor and shield in promoting quality education - “para sa bata”, “para sa edukasyon”.
“Keep on Sailing Bangag Elementary School”! Together, let’s move forward with confidence and pride in our voyage as our ship is safe and deeply anchored for a more efficient teaching endeavor in the brave new world. Your best captain, Mrs. Josie G. Salagan is on board.

“ Working together for a Change” is a life school battlecry of Bangag Elementary School. This motto is created with love, respect, determination that represents team work to reach the peak of one’s dream.
Yes! Working together is creating a good change to create and serve especially the school where everyone learns a lot and where everyone believes that nothing is impossible if there is team work with each other.
A unified community is like a colorful butterfly that if
one color left, the beauty within eases. This can be a great innovative symbol that every person should bear!
