OVERVIEW

Foundation: Students will learn how to simplify and manipulate algebraic expressions by expanding the products of two binomials, factorise quadratic expressions of the form x2 + bx + c, including the difference of two squares, identify and interpret roots, intercepts and turning points of quadratic functions graphically, deduce roots algebraically, recognise, sketch and interpret graphs of quadratic functions.

Solve quadratic equations algebraically by factorising and find approximate solutions using a graph.
