Students must recognise risks with flooding in the UK as well as knowing to Keep warm in winter and keeping cool and hydrated in the summer.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

The Year 7s should know how the climate impacts and threatens our health by affecting the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe, and the weather we experience.

DIVERSITY

Students should be taught the different reasons why water scarcity exists and what they can do about it. Water conservation.

Students should know about areas in the UK that flood the most, a case study is Bostcastle, surface runoff is the term to take away

KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER (CROSS CURRICULAR)

• Maths - students will be introduced to climate graphs. A climate graph is a combination of a line graph and a bar chart. Students will look at calculating a range in temperature and precipitation from a climate graph. 

• Science - students will study the causes and impacts of climate change as well as the hydrological cycle.
