Students are introduced to techniques that cyber criminals use to steal data, disrupt systems, and infiltrate networks. Students start by considering the value their data holds and what organisations might use it for. They will then learn about social engineering and other common cybercrimes, and finally look at methods to protect against these attacks.

Legal Implications of Misuse of computers and GDPR
Students consider the effects of the legal aspects of ICT including the Data Protection Act, Computer Misuse Act and Copyright legislation. They consider the implications of file sharing and downloading illegally and the penalties for engaging in this type of activity.
