The student will appreciate that people from the different parts of the world speak different languages. They will learn that for the world to communicate via the internet the programmers needed to come up with a universal code for all the different character sets. Unicode an international encoding standard for use with different languages and scripts, by which each letter, digit, or symbol is assigned a unique numeric value that applies across different platforms and programs.
