OVERVIEW

Students will study the model of the atom and how to use the periodic table to gather information about the sub-atomic particles in different elements. Students will look at how both the model of the atom and the periodic table has evolved over time and will learn key chemical skills such as writing word equations, balanced symbol equations and ion formation. Students will study practical methods that are used to separate out different substances from mixtures.
