In the event of an emergency school closing, the Del Valle ISD Learning Plan is attached. The E-Learning plan is designed to keep students involved and engaged in the learning process, even when we're not physically at Del Valle ISD. The E-Learning Plan is comprised of complete instructional lessons per content area. Student activity, due dates, and submission of work will be tracked by Google Classroom. Teachers will contact parents/guardians or students via classroom communication apps (Remind), or Google Classroom during the E-Learning day to ensure engagement.

Students who have limited or no internet connectivity at home and who are provided a printed packet with similar content as the digital assignments must turn in this packet to the homeroom teacher the next day school is in session. If you have questions, please send a Google Hangout by clicking here or email to Juan Orozco, Sandi Castro or Loren Boyd.

INTERNET ACCESS

  • To date, the District has distributed over 179 Kajeet Hotspots to students who can use them to access digital resources.

  • The District is investigating partnerships with service providers to provide internet access to students while schools are closed.

CHROMEBOOK DEVICES

  • Students in grades 3-12 will be surveyed to determine if they have a need for a Chromebook device at home to access instructional activities.

  • Schools will check out Chromebook devices to those students or parents who have indicated they need a mobile device for use at home.

  • Schools will use their current inventory of Chromebook devices, including devices in carts, to check out to students.

  • Chromebook devices must be checked out using the Asset Tracking Management System.

CONTENT DELIVERY

  • Students will have access to digital materials and instructional activities to remain engaged in learning during the time schools may remain closed

  • Materials will be available for core content, enrichment activities, conducting research or recreational reading.
