Guide students to establish personal goals and academic planning
Meet with students to discuss personal/social issues
Guide students to discover career interests, the college exploration and the post-secondary workforce readiness process.
**School counselors do not offer therapy or long term counseling. If a student needs something more in depth, parents/guardians will be contacted to discuss outside therapy.
The mission of the School Counseling Program at Hotchkiss High School is to partner with parents, community, faculty and staff to provide a comprehensive, developmental counseling program that addresses the academic, career, personal and social development of all students thus preparing them with the knowledge and skills needed to be productive members of society.
At Hotchkiss High School, our goal is to teach, support and Inspire students to pursue both their personal and academic goals. We recognize that each student is an individual with unique qualities and talents. Our commitment is to help them discover and develop their interests as they continue their journey as a lifelong learner.
