Step 1: Go to www.google.ca and log in to your Delta School District Google email. Your district email will end in @deltalearns.ca.
--> If you don't know what your email or password is, read the FAQ at the bottom of this page.
Step 2: Click on the grid icon (the squares at the top right of the Google homepage) and then click the Classroom icon (it looks like a chalkboard). This will open a new tab.
Step 3: Click the + icon (at the top right) and select Join Class.
Step 4: Enter the class code for your class and then click Join. These are the class codes:
Science 8: z6j4oqmd
Physics 11: y46xltad
Physics 12: er264iym
--> If the code doesn't work, it's probably because you aren't using your @deltalearns.ca email. If you don't know what that is, read the FAQ at the bottom of this page.
Step 5: Click on the newly created box for the class you just joined. You're in!
What if I need help, have a question, or need to contact you for any reason?
Come see me in my classroom, and I would be happy to help. If you would like to contact me outside of school for any reason, please email me: neveleigh@deltaschools.ca. I will get back to you within one school day.
I can log in to Google Classroom, but the code doesn't work. What's wrong?
That's probably because you aren't using your school-created @deltalearns.ca email. If you don't know what that is, see the next question.
What is my Delta School District Google email and password?
Your @deltalearns.ca email was created for you by the Delta School District like so:
Email: [1st name][1st initial of last name][last 3 digits of student #]@deltalearns.ca
e.g. Joe Smith #82351 --> joes351@deltalearns.ca
Password: same as Student Connect
If that doesn't work, you might not have given permission for the district to make your account. Try following the instructions here: https://de.deltasd.bc.ca/learning-from-home/.Â
How do I know what I need to do for my class? What's due? Are there any assignments coming up? I forgot to save some of the notes, can I still get them?
Everything will be posted to Google Classroom, including all of the things we do in person each day. You can use Google Classroom to view the complete history of the class (including all notes, assignments, and due dates) all the way back to the beginning of the current quarter.
I'm a parent and I want to visit your Google Classroom myself. Can I get access?
Yes. You should be able to use your child's account (once they are in) to add your own email as their guardian. This should give you a "guardian summary" every week of what has been posted. Any issues with this please let me know.
