May is Mental Health Awareness Month!
Mental health means how we feel inside—our emotions, thoughts, and how we handle problems. Just like we care for our bodies, we need to care for our minds, too. This month reminds us that it’s okay to ask for help, talk about our feelings, and take care of ourselves and others.

At Del Mar Union School District, we are committed to nurturing global citizens by recognizing and celebrating the diverse experiences, backgrounds, and values that make our community unique. Like a mirror, we encourage reflection on our own beliefs, values, and experiences to better understand who we are. Like a window, we look outward with curiosity and empathy to learn from the perspectives of our students, families, and communities.
This balance of looking inward and outward strengthens our commitment to building an inclusive environment where everyone feels seen, respected, and valued. Throughout the year, we invite you to observe heritage, wellness, and awareness months that honor our students and support meaningful conversations both at school and at home.
