Del Mar Hills Academy
I am so excited to be teaching 3rd grade in the Spanish Language Immersion Program at Del Mar Hills!
I graduated from UCSD with my Master's in Education, Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and Bilingual Authorization. I also completed undergrad at UCSD where I received my bachelor's degree in Education Studies with a minor in Language Studies.
This will be my second year teaching 3rd grade SLIP at Del Mar Hills. The year before, I taught Primary Spanish as part of the STEAM+ program in DMUSD. I grew up in Encinitas, CA, and participated in a dual language immersion program in elementary school where instruction was in both Spanish and English. Through this experience, I learned the value of bilingualism which has shaped my career goals and inspired me to become a bilingual teacher!

I believe in building meaningful relationships with my students so that I can create an engaging learning environment that draws on their funds of knowledge, assets, and interests and best support their learning needs.
I am passionate about bilingual education and bilingualism as it provides students the opportunity to gain knowledge and appreciation for other cultures and languages, and experience the cognitive and academic benefits of bilingualism.
This year we will dive into exciting challenges that spark curiosity and joy, from exploring stories and solving puzzles to collaborating with classmates on creative projects. They'll develop critical thinking skills in reading, writing, and math, all while working together to discover new ideas and tackle real-world problems.
During my free time, I love going to the beach, taking long walks, spending time with friends and family, traveling around the world, trying new foods, and doing yoga.
