Our counselors will virtually provide classroom, small group and individual guidance sessions to support students through the academic process.

o Assignments submitted that were due on that day
o Questions to answer on VERGE or Google Classroom
o Participation in an online discussion
o Class participation during synchronous session
o Login to synchronous session
o Phone call or email with the parent/guardian or related services provider
Student Absence
Excused Absence – the parent/guardian contacts the teacher to inform that the student is unable to participate in any activities for the day.
Unexcused Absence
o The student does not participate in any part of the activities for the day.
o The student has not checked in with the teacher.
o The student’s parent/guardian does not contact the teacher.
All gradebooks for each term, with the exception of ELT, will reflect a balance across all four grading categories: Formative & Diagnostic Assessments, Assessment Tasks (Skills & Homework), Classwork (Guided, Independent, and Group Practice) and Quizzes, Tests, and Projects. Work for ELT will be entered in the the Classwork category only.
It is the expectation that students submit assignments in a timely manner. All assignments will have a pre-determined deadline shared by each teacher. If a student does not complete an assignment by the pre-determined due date, a M will be recorded for the assignment with a score of a zero. The parent/student need to communicate and work with the teacher to make-up missing or failed work.
Parents and students are encouraged to view progress reports and report cards using Infinite Campus.
Students are expected to follow teacher expectations during virtual learning and live sessions.
The DCSD Student Code of Conduct will also guide student behavior expectations throughout the school year.
