Who Runs the Unit?

NJROTC is a student-led program, where everyone can grow individually and help the unit differently.  Our unit is led by Senior Naval Science Instructor (SNSI) Clarence Mariney, LtCol Retired, and Darrell Johnson, Naval Science Instructor, (NSI)  SCPO Retired.  This instructor guides and directs the cadets to reach their fullest potential. Senior Chief Johnson teaches our first-year cadets the basics of properly conducting themselves in this unit and public spaces.  After completing NS1 courses, it's on to  (SNSI) Lieutenant Colonel Mariney.  He teaches NS2, NS3, and NS4 cadets.   However, because NJROTC is a student-led program, expect most interaction with the staff and other cadets in the unit!  We are all willing to help and support you while in this unit. The point of being here is to network with others, build new friendships and bonds, and become a better version of ourselves while also instilling military principles, such as the Navy's core values: HONOR, COURAGE, and COMMITMENT.
