The program is open to individuals and families who live in Wisconsin with overdue housing-related bills, both with and without a mortgage, who meet income and other eligibility requirements, and have experienced a qualified economic hardship since January 21, 2020.

Affordable Connectivity Program

Congress recently created the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), a new, long-term $14 billion program that will replace the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program (EBB Program). Drive Thru Food Pantries are open to everyone. Bring your card (if new, it’s just a quick form gathering demographics you fill out while in your vehicle) for easy check in.

Volunteers will load items directly into your trunk, so make sure you have a lot of room. Items you may receive are mixed fresh produce, cooler items such as eggs, cheeses, butter, yogurts and other dairy items. You may also receive assorted frozen meats such as hotdogs or hamburger. Plus, box or bag of dry shelf stable items such as cereal, noodle dinners, can veggies/fruit, canned protein and more. Milk is often available to everyone. Receive bread and sweet treats. Other items available upon request. Items available vary each week.

We ask that you do not line up before 4:45 PM as neighboring businesses are open until 5 PM. If you must arrive early, park in a parking space down away past patient parking. Do not block the driveway or entrance to any business. Please be respectful of their open business hours.

Discussing Racism with Children of All Ages - Race and Equity Resources

Thank you for your partnership in talking with your children often about racism. Our youth are making sense of the world around them and they need our help. Here you can find tips and resources on engaging in challenging conversations with children:

  • Don’t be afraid to talk to your child about what’s happened. It’s okay to share your feelings and experiences.

  • Promote a sense of safety by acknowledging the racism and violence, and ask your child if they have any questions or concerns that you could talk about together.

  • Use age-appropriate language (e.g., talk to elementary-school-aged children about the importance of being a good friend and valuing each other’s differences).

  • Remind them that there is good in the world – model being supportive of other cultures.

  • Share ideas about how your child can respond to racism that they may have encountered.

  • Please reach out to someone in student services if you have additional questions or need someone to talk to.

Food Pantries

DeForest Food Pantry

      • The pantry is open Thursday evenings from 6-7 PM and is located at Windsor United Church of Christ at 4434 2nd Street in Windsor.

      • With the new regulations, we've had to adjust some of our procedures. In the past guests would come inside the Church to register, but now we are having families stay in their cars where we are registering them and then the pantry volunteers bring their orders to their cars.
