Deer Park High School Library Mission Statement
The mission of the Deer Park High School Library is to empower students to think critically, create, share and grow academically, emotionally and socially. The library program implements a variety of services with diverse, up-to-date materials and resources, while supporting the Deer Park School District’s Mission Statement.
Library Goal
The goal of the Deer Park High School Library is to promote a love for reading that will develop life-long readers.
Librarian Goals
The goals of the librarian are:
To promote a love for reading and literacy through library programs and instruction.
To teach students to access, evaluate, and use information ethically.
To maintain a well-balanced collection of materials that are inclusive, diverse, and appropriate for the needs of the school.
To provide students and staff support in locating and using materials.
To provide staff with instructional materials that will stimulate growth and support curriculum.
