
Hixson Opportunity Awards
The Hixson Program is a $20,000 scholarship named in honor of Iowa native Christina Hixson.
One student from each county in the state of Iowa will receive this award each year.
Half-tuition scholarships (estimated value of more than $18,000 over eight semesters).

Each year, thousands of dollars are given to graduating Iowa High School seniors who plan to attend Iowa post-secondary schools. Scholarships are based on volunteerism, achievement, and financial need. Male and female students are encouraged to apply.

$5,000 to a student pursuing an Engineering Degree
This scholarship is given in memory of Adam J Bohr. Adam graduated from Decorah High School in 1993. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University in 1999. He began employment with McClure Engineering Company immediately after receiving his degree and purchased ownership in McClure Engineering Company in 2001. He later became the Regional Manager of the Coralville and later the North Liberty, Iowa office. Adam passed away from cancer in December 2010. He was well known and respected by those who knew him.
