My name is Tina Hockenberry, and I am very excited about my new position at Decatur Public Schools! This is my 16th year to teach! I have always wanted to be a teacher and love what I do! I have taught Kindergarten, 5th Grade Language Arts, 2nd Grade, K-5 GT, and now I'm looking forward to my new position as the Gifted and Talented Coordinator and Teacher as well as the Advanced Placement (AP) Coordinator.
I have three grown sons and a niece that lives with me. I have been married to Tim Hockenberry for 33 years. We own a poultry farm in Gentry, and I graduated from Lincoln (a long time ago! ha ha). I love animals and have too many dogs!
I earned my bachelor's degree from Eastern IL University in Education and then completed my master's degree in Gifted and Talented Education from Arkansas State University.
