What is third grade working on?

December Unit

During the three weeks in December, third grade will be completing their study of ancient Egypt. We will be looking at nonfiction and fiction text, solving puzzles, re-creating hieroglyphics, and solving a mystery that is set in Egypt. The biggest part of this unit is the mystery that students will be solving. Students are given a booklet full of puzzles they must solve in order to solve the mystery. The puzzles are a combination of math, science, history, and reading puzzles. Students are working in pairs to complete this unit. Please check back for pictures of the students in action!

Virtual classrooms are a great way to engage students when they have downtime at home or at school. All of the pictures down below are interactive. Click on a picture in the virtual room and it will take you to an activity connect to that picture.

Stem Activities

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

STEM activities give students the opportunity to solve problems in a variety of ways and use their creativity to do so. Students follow a STEM design process in order to create the best products that they can. These are pictures that have been taken during class to show the different STEM activities students have finished.
