GIFTED AND TALENTED & ADVANCED PLACEMENT COORDINATOR

My name is Megan Boyd and I am so excited to be a part of the GATE program at Decatur Public Schools. Along with teaching gifted and talented for grades K-12, I also work with students that are taking AP classes as the AP coordinator. Needless to say, I am very busy--but I love being a busy bee; my pet peeve is when I sit around doing nothing! When I do have free time, I like to watch The Office, go shopping, or go out with my husband!

I grew up in Decatur and graduated from Decatur High School in 2014. I then went on to graduate from John Brown University in 2018 with my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I started working at Decatur Public Schools in 2019 as a 4th grade English and Social Studies teacher. I am currently taking graduate classes at the University of Arkansas to receive my endorsement for Gifted and Talented Education. I am very excited for this new journey in all things gifted!
