My mom always believed in equality. When people said things like “it’s not too important to educate girls”, she stood her ground and made sure I got the best education by enrolling me into the best school.

I have faced gender bias on multiple occasions in life.

Even back when I came in for an interview with Decathlon, the panel comprised of four men. There were a total of 14 candidates out of which I was the only female candidate.

Being in a world where gender inequality is ingrained in the social DNA, I thought I’d never make the cut even if I gave it my best.

To my surprise, I was the only one selected that day and that changed a lot about my understanding of the company and its culture.
