The Signal Processing Group is devoted to the research and development of cutting-edge algorithms and methods for signal analysis and numerical computation.
We aim at advancing technology and mathematical methods keeping in mind that our ultimate goal is to contribute to the understanding of nature.
"The purpose of computing is insight, not numbers."
— R. W. Hamming, In: Numerical Methods for Scientists and Engineers, Chapter 1, Section 1.1, Dover Pub., 1987.
The Signal Processing Group is a scholarly team of professors, researchers, and students devoted to:
leveraging highly advanced information processing systems;
disseminating technological and mathematical progress; and
promoting excellent students to higher academic paths.
We are an educational, nonprofit group funded by grant programs from educational and scientific agencies such as CNPq, FACEPE, CAPES, Federal University of Pernambuco, and Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT). All funds are directed to purchasing books, computers, circuitry, etc.
Our main research results are reverted to the public at no cost and are freely available at the web. Our main facilities are physically located at the Federal University of Pernambuco.
The group was founded in 2007 by Dr R J Cintra.
This research group is accredited and certified by the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq).
Certification is public available at the following address: http://dgp.cnpq.br/dgp/espelhogrupo/37079
