Veterans Affairs Canada has put together multiple resources for teachers with lesson plans. These resource are suitable for grades K-8 which will provide learning experiences about Remembrance Day and why we remember.
For older students, the Facing History and Ourselves site is a great resource with many lesson plan ideas and conversation starters. This site has a very good way of dealing with the Holocaust, which is especially helpful for teaching and learning.
Consider using this Sway (link in picture) to discuss Indigenous Remembrance Day on November 8th. Created by DDSB Indigenous Education, this presentation will provoke discussion in your classroom. A very valuable and timely resource.
Observing a diversified and equitable Remembrance Day is important for our students. Feel free to use this slide deck to help you with your planning.
