Marketing is the process of making your invention look good to customers. You can market through advertising on the tv or radio, at the movie theatre, in newspapers and magazines, online and on billboards. Before you market, it's important to know your audience and who will buy your invention.
Audience
Who are you marketing to? Who will buy your invention? What kinds of things do they like? What will attract their attention? It's important to know about your audience because you want to grab their attention.
Advertise
Once you know your audience, you must choose the best method to reach them. Should you make a poster? Should you create a commercial? Should you hand out business cards? How you advertise is up to you, but choosing the best method to reach your audience is key.
The Elevator Pitch
The Elevator Pitch is your chance to convince your audience that your new invention is great in 60 seconds or less. An elevator pitch is a brief but persuasive speech that introduces your idea. Use the planning form below to help you write your Elevator Pitch. Remember, practice makes perfect! You should be able to recite your speech without looking at any notes and you should be able to do it with enthusiasm. Confidence is key, so practice, practice, practice.
