I am originally from the small town of Wall, South Dakota. It is located near Badlands National Park, where I collected fees as a ranger in high school. I attended Chadron State College for my undergraduate and graduate degrees, ultimately graduating with a Masters in Community Mental Health Counseling. I received my teaching certificate through University of Nebraska-Kearney. While still in college, I accepted a position with the TRiO program on campus, which I loved. I had the opportunity to work for a federally grant funded program serving first generation and low income students.
In my free time, I enjoy shopping, cooking, hunting and fishing with Mr. Fette, gardening, and spending time with my beloved beagles, Zoey and Ellie. Leah, our little human, turned one. She continues to be a great addition to our family and has high hopes to be a future tiger. We also keep busy with home renovations and yard work, when we aren't attending nearly every school activity. I have very high hopes for an amazing 2018-2019 school year.
As the school counselor for Dundy County Stratton Schools, I look forward to assisting students by providing a counseling program addressing the academic, career, and personal/social development of all students. I really enjoy helping students navigate the waters of secondary education. Students are always welcome in my office and as I may not have all the answers, I will do my best to answer or find the answer.
