I am originally from the small town of Wall, South Dakota. It is located near Badlands National Park, where I collected fees as a ranger in high school. I attended Chadron State College for my undergraduate and graduate degrees, ultimately graduating with a Masters in Community Mental Health Counseling. I received my teaching certificate through University of Nebraska-Kearney. While still in college, I accepted a position with the TRiO program on campus, which I loved. I had the opportunity to work for a federally grant funded program serving first generation and low income students.
In my free time, I enjoy shopping, cooking, hunting and fishing with Mr. Fette, gardening, and spending time with my beloved beagles, Zoey and Ellie. In June, we welcomed our little human, Leah. She has been a great addition to our family and has high hopes to be a future tiger. We also keep busy with home renovations and yard work, when we aren't attending nearly every school activity. I have very high hopes for an amazing 2017-2018 school year.
As the school counselor for Dundy County Stratton Schools, I look forward to assisting students by providing a counseling program addressing the academic, career, and personal/social development of all students. I really enjoy helping students navigate the waters of secondary education. Students are always welcome in my office and as I may not have all the answers, I will do my best to answer or find the answer.
