I am originally from the small town of Wall, South Dakota. I attended Chadron State College for my undergraduate and graduate degrees, ultimately graduating with a Masters in Community Mental Health Counseling and added school counseling endorsement. I received my teaching certificate through the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
In my free time, I enjoy shopping, cooking, hunting and fishing, gardening, and spending time with family and my beloved beagles, Zoey, Ellie, and Hazel. Leah, my favorite little human and daughter, turned two this summer. She definitely keeps Mr. Fette and myself on our toes with her strong will and self-assurance. We also keep busy with home renovations and yard work, when we aren't attending nearly every school activity. I have very high hopes for an amazing 2019-2020 school year.
As the school counselor for Dundy County Stratton Schools, I look forward to assisting students by providing a counseling program addressing the academic, career, and personal/social development of all students. I really enjoy helping students navigate the waters of secondary education and the career world. I pose a new question to students instead of the traditional "what do you want to be when you grow up?" with "what kind of change do you want to make in the world?" Students are always welcome in my office and as I may not have all the answers, I will do my best to answer or find the answer.
