About Ms. Swift
I grew up in a small town in Southwest Florida. After graduating high school, I attended Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, where I earned a BA in History with a minor in Religion. I then attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received my MA in Teaching with an emphasis in Secondary Social Studies. I also hold an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Upon graduation from UNC-CH, I returned to Florida and taught at my alma mater for ten years. While there, I taught AP World History, World History, and Theatrical Stagecraft. I also co-sponsored several clubs and organizations including the Drama Club/International Thespian Society, National Honor Society, Model United Nations, and Junior Class.
Looking to experience seasons (other than summer and slightly less summer) and escape hurricanes, I moved to Georgia and began working at New Manchester. In addition to teaching, I am the Student Government Association sponsor, a member of the AVID Site Team, and am one of two High School Social Studies Content Specialists for the Douglas County School System.
I am a very proud member of the Jaguar FAMILY!
