Introduction to Theatre
This course offers the opportunity for a variety of performance experiences, which may include the following: scene work, monologues, improvisation, and pantomime not covered in middle school. Major emphases of the class are on developing beginning acting skills as well as a foundation for continuing in theatre. It is suggested, but not required, the student take Theatre I in the fall and Theatre II in the spring.
Introduction to Theatre
As a continuation of Theatre I, this course extends development of acting skills and production. Course work may include the following: scene work, monologues, improvisation, play and character analysis, auditioning, and Shakespeare. Participation in play production is encouraged. It is suggested, but not required, that the student take Theatre I in the fall and Theatre II in the spring.
Intermediate Theatre
This year-long course emphasizes the development of a higher level of acting skills. Course work may include the following: improvisation, play and character analysis, theatre history, children’s theatre, and advanced acting techniques. Work outside of class time is expected for rehearsal and class performances.
Stage Directing and Acting
This year-long class allows students to pursue the fundamentals of stage direction. Course work may include the following: directing and advanced acting; film, script and character analysis, and design concepts. Work outside of class time is expected for r
Theatre V
This audition-only course is for the advanced theatre student. Students will develop advanced production techniques. Play production is the core of this class. Students are required to participate in the productions.
