Welcome to Spanish!

¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español! In Spanish class at Pine Lane, we use a combination of stories, songs, games, and other activities to create an organically growing knowledge of and ability to use the Spanish language. Spanish class is fun, so that students think of learning Spanish (and learning in general) as a fun activity rather than a chore. Spanish class is robust, with state-of-the-art approaches to language acquisition incorporated in a variety of ways. And Spanish class is about teaching the whole child, not just a language, not just about Latino (Hispanic) cultures, but also to cultivate a sense of wonder and joy throughout life, to learn how to be self-disciplined in service to that sense of wonder and joy, and to be a little community of our own, where we lift each other up and where "we laugh, we stop, we move on" (a class slogan).
