Hello!
I am Allison Slabotsky, I go by Ms. S or previously Ms. Pickle, kids get creative! I am pleased to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year! My family and I just moved to Highlands Ranch from Austin, TX and we are thrilled to be in such a loving community. My husband, Ryan, works in TechED. My daughter Lucy will be in 5th grade and daughter, Eleanor 'Nora', in 3rd at Northridge.
As any animal enthusiast would, we have 3 dogs; Dolly a St. Bernard Doodle, Loretta is a mini-Aussie and Willie, the baby of the family, is a heeler/beagle. Willie adopted us at a music festival in Marfa, TX. My daughters also rescued a family of cats and two of them, Creamy, a siamese, and Little Socks, an orange tabby, now reside with us. The rest of them share a barn with my dad's horses in Texas.
I have taught kinder-3rd grade, and most recently worked at University of Texas as a reading interventionist. I have endorsements in Gifted and Talented as well as The Science of Teaching Reading. I cannot wait to begin my Colorado teaching journey!
I am looking forward to having your child as a student. Fourth grade is such a fun year with so many wonderful learning activities to celebrate. In order to have a fun year, my most important goal is to create a family of learners in my classroom. I am committed to creating a classroom environment where your child is a valued, trusted, and integral part of our family of learners.
