Pam Klein, Amanda Harvey, Tara Strickland, Maisy Burns
Hello! My name is Maisy Albaugh, and I am so excited to be teaching kindergarten at Northridge! I have been at Northridge for 9 years. I attended the University of Northern Colorado and earned my Bachelors in Elementary Education with a concentration in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education. Prior to teaching at Northridge, I have experience in Weld County Schools and Cherry Creek Schools. I absolutely love Northridge, and am happy to call this school home!
My passion in life is teaching! I believe all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is my desire to ensure students can meet their full potential. I will provide a safe environment where students are cared for, are invited to share their ideas, and take risks. We will become a family of learners!
I am a proud Colorado native, and former Douglas County student! While I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, being active, exploring the mountains, reading, and baking!
I am so excited for this upcoming year and getting to know each family and each student for the unique learner they are.
Welcome Kindie families! My name is Amanda Harvey and I am so excited to be teaching Kindergarten this year. This year will be my 13th year teaching at NRE. Previously I have taught 6th grade for 4 years, 1st grade for 8 years, and was then offered the exciting opportunity to move to Kindergarten. It is a dream position and I can't wait to meet my first kindergarten class and their families.
I am originally from Phoenix, Arizona but grew up in beautiful Portland, Oregon where I enjoyed four seasons of hiking in the rain every year. I moved to North Dakota to pursue a degree in Airport Management at the University of North Dakota and to discover what a true winter feels like. After completing that degree, and gaining a few life experiences, I changed paths to my life's passion and earned degrees in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, and Special Education. To complete my degrees, I moved here to Colorado to student teach at Northridge, start my career, and haven't wanted to leave!
In 2020, I rescued an amazing COVID dog and named him Bruce. He is quite the personality, loves to talk and play tug, and can't wait to cuddle at night. This summer my first niece was born and I am loving getting to know her and watching her grow. Outside of the classroom I love to go camping, hiking, and traveling.
Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Pam Klein and I am excited for another year in kindergarten! I have been teaching for 23 years. I spent 16 years in Jeffco teaching Kindergarten and 1st grade. I moved to NRE in 2019 to teach 3rd grade. After a few years in 3rd grade and substitute teaching I came back to help teach Kindergarten and decided I wanted to stay. Kindergarten is the best grade and so much fun to teach!
I grew up in South Dakota, but have lived in Colorado since 2000. I graduated with a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I also have my Masters Degree in Curriculum & Instruction with an Emphasis on Reading.
I have been married for 22 years to my husband Josh. We have 3 boys, Kolby ,who is a junior at Grand Canyon University, Jaden, a senior at Thunderridge, and Tanner who is a freshman at Thunderridge. We also have 2 boy dogs, Breck and Bear. When I am not at school you can often find me at a baseball field cheering on my boys. I also love music and try to get to concerts whenever I can.
I am looking forward to an amazing year! I am excited to get to know all of the kids and their families better.
Hi NRE Kindergarten Families!
My name is Tara and I am so excited to learn and grow with you all this year! I am embarking on my 12th year teaching in Douglas County School District and my 8th year in Kindergarten at Northridge Elementary. Before starting my adventure at Northridge, I taught in a Douglas County Preschool and loved every minute of it.
I graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder where I received my Bachelors degree in both Psychology and Art. I continued on to get my Masters in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Human Learning and Development from the University of Colorado Denver. I have been in the classroom ever since :)
In my spare time, I love getting outside and active, taking my dogs, Myla and Tilly, to the dog park, and spending time with my family. I have two little girls, Sayla and Violet, who are wild and wonderful!
I am so excited for this upcoming year and to get to know each family and each individual child for the special and unique person that they are!
