Hello First Grade Families!

My name is Stephanie Zimmerman and I will be your child’s first grade teacher! I am excited to get our year started together and to get to know your beautiful children, and all of you! First grade is such an exciting time and full of fun and growth. Kiddos this age are so much fun, so cute and funny, and very excited about school! I know we will have a fantastic year and I cannot wait to work with each of you as parents to help your children grow as learners!

This year will be my sixth year teaching in Douglas County School District. I taught Kindergarten at Meadow View Elementary in Castle Rock for five years, and this will be my first year teaching full time at Gold Rush, last year I was a substitute teacher here for many teachers. I have also been on the parent side here at Gold Rush since my oldest son was in first grade ten years ago! I have been a volunteer, a PTO member, a substitute and now a full time Gold Rush teacher!

My husband Aaron and I have four children, Zachary, Karter, Emmrey and Asher. Zachary is 15 and will be a sophomore at Legend High School this year. Karter is 11 and will be a 6th grader at Cimarron, and Emmrey and Asher are twins and just turned 7, they will be first graders this year right here at Gold Rush! As a family we love to spend our time between home and our cabin in Westcliffe, and love to take vacations to the beach and our favorite place, Disney World!

I have a degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University and my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado. Teaching children is such a rewarding experience and brings me so much joy. I feel strongly that we can learn so much from children and watching them learn is an amazing experience. I want you to know I am fully committed to your child’s wellbeing both academically and emotionally, and am so excited to develop a partnership with you as parents this year!

I am so excited to meet you all and to begin the journey of this school year together!

Warmly,

Mrs. Zimmerman
