Welcome to Kindergarten!

My name is Krissy Spera and I am very excited to be your child's Kindergarten teacher this year! We will have a fun, exciting, adventure-filled year together! This will be my first year teaching Kindergarten at Mammoth Heights however I have been working alongside and helping the Kindie team here for the past three years. Before having children (and taking time off to be home with them) I taught preschool for 10 years. I also served as the Speech-Language Therapist for the students in my classroom. I have my Bachelors degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) and my Masters degree from the University of South Carolina in Speech-Language Pathology. I feel so fortunate to be a part of the Mammoth Heights family and absolutely love our school community.  My favorite part of teaching is getting to know each child as his or her own special self and seeing eyes light up when something new is learned, which is a huge part of Kindergarten!

I am originally from South Florida where I met my husband, John. We have three children who all attend local schools in DCSD. Riley will be a Junior this school year at Chaparral High School, Walker will be in 8th Grade at Sierra Middle School, and Grace will be in 6th Grade at Mammoth Heights. All of my kiddos began their educational careers at Mammoth Heights in preschool and all will have graduated from MHE before moving on to middle school! We have two dogs that we love...Luna (a sweet yet serious Staffordshire Terrier mix) and Stella (an enthusiastic Golden Retriever). We also have Jack, our Bearded Dragon. Some of my favorite activities include cooking, entertaining, traveling, reading, and spending time with my family.
