Miss Welsh

Welcome to fifth grade at Northeast! My name is Audrey Welsh and I am incredibly excited to be your teacher this year! This is will be my first year in my own classroom and I look forward to everything we will learn together. I am a Colorado native, but I did go out of state for college. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Special Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. (Not quite Lincoln, but my parents are from Nebraska, so it is always GO BIG RED!)

I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in the second grade and it is something I have always loved. It is more than a dream come true to be teaching fifth grade this year! I have coached swimming for the 9-10 age group and was also a long term substitute this past school year for a fifth-grade class in Littleton. We will be learning together, having fun together and preparing ourselves for our next big transition to sixth grade!

I am currently working on buying the house that I grew up in which is in Centennial. I have three sisters who all live in Colorado. I live with my boyfriend, Kyle, and have a dog named Chloe who is a Golden Retriever. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my sister Addison, taking her dog Tory and Chloe on walks and watching sports with Kyle. I also love to swim, read and attempt to start a long list of renovations!

I look forward to a wonderful year with you and your family! My email is awelsh@dcsdk12.org, please email me with questions or concerns. I cannot wait to meet you at the Meet and Greet! Enjoy the end of summer!
