Teaching is an absolute passion of mine! I am so excited to work with you and your child. It’s going to be a year full of discovery, fun, and lots of growth. It is my mission to instill a love for learning in my students. This year, your first grader will be curious, explore his or her passions, and take risks. I can’t wait to see the adventures in store for us.

My name is Kaelyn Cannon I am SO excited to be your child's 1st grade teacher this year. This is my first year at Heritage Elementary and I am new to the Douglas County School District as a teacher. I am ecstatic to start on this new journey and be a part of the Heritage family. I have taught both 1st and 2nd grade in Jefferson County. My husband and I just recently moved to the Highlands Ranch area so I wanted to start teaching closer to home and serve my community.

I was born and raised in Colorado. I grew up in Douglas County (Parker, CO) and attended DCSD all throughout my schooling. I then graduated from Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, CO in December of 2018 with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I then moved back to the Eastern slope to start my career.

I have been married to my wonderful husband Kelly for almost two years and we have 2 fur babies, our cats Winston and Theodore. Your child will get to know my furry friends well, as I love to include them in my classroom activities and my daily lessons (with pictures of course).

In my free time, I love to go hiking, camping, and traveling. Anything outdoors, count me in!
