Miss Hubbard's Wellness Class

Welcome to Wellness!

Welcome to Wellness! My name is Miss Hubbard and I will be your teacher this year. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. I played many sports growing up including soccer, gymnastics, track, volleyball, basketball, and softball. My two favorites were basketball and softball. I graduated from Purdue University in 2016 with a double major in Physical Education and Health Education. My first three years of teaching were spent in Indiana. I taught Physical and Health Education and coached volleyball, track, basketball, and softball. I loved my students and coworkers in Indiana, but was eager to move to Colorado to spend more time in the mountains! I've lived in Colorado for two years now and I absolutely love it. I spend every weekend that I can hiking in the mountains with my 4-month-old Goldendoodle, Leo! I love being outside and exploring all of the state and national parks that Colorado has to offer!

I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in 6th grade and the past four years in the classroom have validated my 12 year-old self's decision to become a teacher. I love connecting with my students. Wellness is a wonderful class because the content allows for the possibility of personal connection. What I hope for my students is that they walk out of my class having learned something they can apply to their lives, but more importantly, that they walk out of my class feeling respected, cared for, and appreciated by me and their classmates. I am hoping that this year will be a more conventional school year, but no matter what the year brings us, I am excited to be your teacher through it all! I can't wait to see all of the personal and academic growth that takes place in my classroom!
