AN INTRODUCTION TO THE HOLOCAUST

Welcome to the HRHS Holocaust Museum, where you will use your background knowledge and new information from the exhibits to deepen your understanding of this tragic and horrifying historical event.

Through this experience, you will explore these essential questions:

• Why is it important to remember and study the Holocaust today?

• How do we survive in an unpredictable world? 

• How do you remain an individual when faced with societal pressure? 

• What responsibilities do we have when witnessing injustice?

At each exhibit, you should:

• Read the exhibit poster, which provides an introduction to the topic or task.

• Read the directions for your task, provided on this website. Necessary materials and equipment will be set up for you.

• Use the provided packet to record your responses.

You will receive a grade for the work you do, and you will receive a CONTENT grade for your thinking demonstrated in the exit ticket you will complete at the end of your museum experience. 

This museum was created in 2014 by Sierra Middle School librarians Stephanie Meurer and Jennifer Milstead, and language arts teacher Erin Kelley, and has been adapted for use at the high school level.
