Hideaway Island

Welcome to Hideaway Island!!!

My name is Meredith Jimenez and I am so excited to be your child's teacher. This is my 8th year teaching 1st grade!

I was born in raised in Southern California and married the boy I sat next to in 6th grade. I have a BA in English from California State University San Bernardino and a Master’s in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of West Florida. My husband is career Air Force (23 years and counting!) and we have 2 beautiful children- Ravyn & Rio. My family and I have been stationed here in Colorado for the past 3 years, but we have also lived in Italy, New Jersey, Korea, Okinawa, and Florida.

First grade is an exciting year as children embark upon new adventures in learning. You will be amazed at the speed in which new skills are acquired. Your child will learn how to read, write stories, add subtract, and so much more! I hope to make your child’s learning experience a fun and exciting one. Above all, I hope to instill a love of learning that will last throughout your child’s years of schooling.

So much happens in First Grade! Parents, as well as children, may have some apprehensions. It is extremely important to keep in mind that we all build on small successes. Each child will progress at his/her own rate, acquiring skills as he/she is developmentally ready. Maintaining each child’s confidence and self-esteem while building a secure foundation for future growth will always remain a priority in our class.

I feel privileged to be your child’s teacher! I am looking forward to working with your child this year and getting to know each of you better. I truly believe that when the teacher and parents work together as a team – the child benefits!
