My name is Andrea Hernandez and I am very excited to be teaching 5th grade at Pine Grove. This will be my 30th year teaching and my fourth year at Pine Grove Elementary School. Originally, I am from Buffalo, New York. After graduating from college in 1994, I moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where I met my husband. Shortly after getting married, we moved to Colorado in 2001. In addition to teaching, I have a Master’s Degree in school counseling from the University of Nevada.
My daughter, Alexandra, recently graduated from CU Boulder and is working in the ER at Denver Health Hospital. My son, Jacob, is off to college in Minnesota where he will also be playing baseball. My family also enjoys hiking and fostering rescue dogs. We actually adopted two of our foster dogs, Sasha and Frankie Rizzo.
I believe that parents, teachers, and students are a team. It is my goal to create a safe, stable, and welcoming environment for your child where he or she can grow academically, socially and emotionally. I encourage parent involvement and communication. I look forward to a fantastic year together!
