Hi! My name is Katie Durr and I am so excited to be your teacher this year!!! We are going to do so many fun things and of course we will learn a lot. I hope you have had a fabulous summer so far. I am so excited to see your faces at Meet the Teacher Day!

This will be my 9th year teaching and my 1st year at Gold Rush. I started my teaching career in Texas and have taught 6th grade Math and Science, and 6th-8th grade Math Intervention. Last year I taught 6th grade Math for the DCSD eLearning students.

I was born and raised in Michigan and went to Michigan State University (Go Green!). At MSU I played trumpet in the Spartan Marching Band and the Spartan Brass and got to travel all over the country with the sports teams. After college I moved to Austin, TX and began a teaching career shortly after. I lived in Texas for 12 years before my family and I decided it was time to move to the great state of Colorado! I have 3 children, 2 of which also go to Gold Rush; Charlotte (7), Wyatt (5), and Milly (3). We also have 2 amazing dogs; Penny (Red Lab) and Queso (Golden Retriever).

I truly believe that this year is going to be great! I look forward to meeting you all and enjoying a great year.
