Save our Seniors Project

Summer Individual Tutoring for All Students (click here for more information)

  • What is the cost of tutoring for families?

Tutoring in June and July of 2021 is free to DCSD families K-12 (Charters are excluded as they receive their own separate grant funds). All tutoring is being offered through one-year only ESSER grant funds.

  • Who is eligible to receive tutoring services?

Any DCSD student in need of academic and/or social emotional support can request and receive tutoring services pending availability.

Services Provided:

Staff in the DC Student Assistance Department provide District-wide services in the following ways:

  1. DC Student Support Center: Academic Programming, which includes Credit Recovery and/or GED

  2. Truancy Interventions: Student Attendance Review Board (SARB) and Community-partnerships

  3. DCSD GED Program at the Student Assistance Department

  4. Expulsion Services: Services for Expelled Students in partnership with students' home schools

  5. Dropout Reduction

  6. Grant Writing: Expelled and At-Risk Student Services (EARSS) Grant

  7. Homebound Programming

  8. Tutoring & Engagement Support: Tutoring & Resources for students
