Student Assistance Department Mission:
To equitably engage and empower students and families in academics and social-emotional learning by utilizing individualized, strength-based, and solution-focused interventions.
Student Assistance Department Vision:
Creating diverse programming for students and families to overcome barriers, re-engage in educational options, and build resiliency with the support of specialized staff through targeted interventions.

Services Provided:
Staff in the DC Student Assistance Department provide District-wide services in the following ways:
DC Student Support Center: Academic Programming, which includes Credit Recovery and/or GED
Truancy Interventions: Student Attendance Review Board (SARB) and Community-partnerships
DCSD GED Program at the Student Assistance Department
Expulsion Services: Services for Expelled Students in partnership with students' home schools
Dropout Reduction
Grant Writing: Expelled and At-Risk Student Services (EARSS) Grant
Homebound Programming
Tutoring & Engagement Support: Tutoring & Resources for students
