DCMO BOCES Career Destinations MicroCredentialing
WHAT IS A BADGE
A badge is a digital way to represent your certification achievement. Open Badges refer specifically to badges that adhere to an open standard being led by Mozilla for recognizing and validating learning.
Open Badges are secure, web-enabled credentials that contain granular, verified information employers can use to evaluate an individual's potential.
BENEFITS OF BADGING
To help students communicate their credentials and accomplishments in an ever-expanding online marketplace.
These digital badges symbolize student achievements and career readiness. Badges provide employers and peers concrete evidence of what students had to do to earn their credentials and what skills they’ve mastered.
Through DCMO BOCESs' partnership with Credly, students have the opportunity to use the Acclaim platform to manage and share their badge online, view information about various job markets, and directly access job listings based on their newly earned skills. Students can search and apply for job opportunities directly through the Acclaim platform.
DCMO BOCES badges will help our students stand out from the crowd to employers and postsecondary institutions.
HOW DOES MY CREDENTIAL GET DISPLAYED AS A BADGE?
You receive a digital badge image from our partner, Acclaim. Once you visit the Acclaim website and claim your badge, you will have the option to share this digital image that is linked back to detailed metadata on the Acclaim website.
The metadata provides detailed information about your certification.
